MINDT - Migrants Included in Digital Transformation
The MINDT project, funded by the EU Program Erasmus+ under the KA210-ADU initiative for small-scale partnerships in adult education, is set to run for 14 months from April 2024, to May 2025. Approved by the Greek National Agency for Erasmus+ (Greek State Scholarship’s Foundation (IKY)), this initiative involves collaboration between Generation for Change CY and Generation 2.0 for Rights, Equality & Diversity from Greece.
The project prioritises improving the competencies of educators and adult education staff while addressing digital transformation and enhancing digital skills. A key focus is to facilitate the reception and integration of refugees and migrants by promoting digital inclusion. This includes empowering migrants to navigate the online world independently, ensuring they can access and utilise Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) effectvely. By equipping professionals and trainers who work with migrant populations, MINDT aims to bridge the digital divide, enabling all individuals, especially those at risk of exclusion, to thrive in an increasingly digital landscape where online services and job opportunities are vital.
The MINDT (Migrants Included in Digital Transformation) Guide is designed to empower migrants and refugees by enhancing their digital literacy and improving access to essential services. In an increasingly digital world, the ability to navigate online platforms is crucial for accessing public services, job opportunities, education, and healthcare. However, many migrants face significant challenges, including language barriers, limited digital skills, and unfamiliarity with online procedures. This guide addresses these challenges, offering practical and comprehensive content across key areas, from foundational digital skills to information on navigating legal procedures, healthcare, and education to help migrants build confidence and autonomy in the digital landscape.
Please note, this guide provides step-by-step instructions to be carried out on a computer, in order to strengthen digital skills and boost computer literacy for migrants.
This guide is also designed to assist professionals working with migrants by providing a comprehensive resource that includes all necessary services for migrants. It also aims to enhance their competencies in navigating digital processes and administrative systems.
The need for such a guide emerged from in-depth consultations with migrants and professionals. Focus groups revealed that migrants often struggle with online applications and public service platforms, frequently relying on intermediaries who charge for assistance. Professionals highlighted the importance of visual tools and step-by-step instructions to bridge language and digital literacy gaps. By incorporating these insights, the MINDT Guide aims to create a user-friendly resource that fosters inclusion, reduces dependence on others, and promotes digital empowerment.
